Product Information

Callitris glaucophylla

Refreshing, delicate pine aroma.

White Cypress Leaf is grounding, calming and has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory qualities due to its alpha-pinene components. White Cypress essential oil is a new player in the Australian native arena. There are approximately 16 species of Cypress Pines in Australia, 14 of which are native. The White Cypress pine has a strong place in First Nations culture (the tree was used for oars, resin and medicine) and is now proudly used in, essential oil production.

A Little About The Farm

The pine needles are harvested from trees that have become endemic to Mid Western New South Wales over time. The farm is managed by our friends The Thompsons of Native Secrets as part of a mining environmental management plan. The Thompsons have a wealth of knowledge about the indigenous usage of white cypress leaves passed down from their ancestors and local elders. The selective foresting of old-growth White Cypress trees encourages sunlight and nutrients to return to the dense forest floor which makes room for the revival of a near-extinct habitat for the Pink Worm-Tailed Lizard.

Distillation Method

This plantation is hand-harvested and distilled on-site using a permanent custom built steam distillation system designed and built by Native Oils Australia. It uses on-site dam water that is cooled and returned at the end of the distillation process. Spent bio-mass from the distillation is kept for testing for its durability in sustainable urban building.

Helps to promote calm
Helps to soothe inflammation

White Cypress Leaf oil has a beautiful combination of alpha-pinene and d-limonene which speaks to its stunningly refreshing aroma. Alpha-pinene is a proven anti-inflammatory ingredient used by chemists and scientists globally to soothe muscular inflammation and topically treat irritated skin. Alpha-pinene is also a prized anti-bacterial ingredient and diffusing this oil can assist in promoting a healthy home.

Some perfumers have used White Cypress Leaf oil as what they call a fixative which is what helps to keep all the individual aromas together in a final perfume. The d-limonene content in White Cypress Leaf oil is also beneficial in skin care for mature and ageing skin. Overall this oil is perfect for diffusing to reduce anxiety and achieve a grounded state.

Precautions: Keep out of reach of children. Store in a dark cool place under 30 degrees Celcius.
Furry Friends: Non toxic when diffused in low doses
